What is AWS Class ERZr2 MIG & TIG?

AWS Class ERZr2 MIG & TIG welding wires are composed primarily of zirconium (Zr ≥ 99.2%), with trace elements such as Hf (≤ 4.5%), Fe (≤ 0.2%), and other impurities kept below 0.1%. This composition provides excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in strong acids and seawater environments. Mechanically, ERZr2 offers a tensile strength of approximately 330–480 MPa, yield strength around 230 MPa, and elongation of 20–30%. Its outstanding ductility, toughness, and resistance to high-temperature oxidation make it ideal for critical industrial and chemical applications.
