The AWS Class ER90S-B3 MIG and TIG filler rods and welding wires are designed to be used in the welding of high-strength steel. They are normally composed of 0.08-0.15 percent carbon, 1.40-1.65 percent manganese, 0.50-0.80 percent silicon with little sulfur and phosphorus in order to produce good welds. They provide a tensile strength of about 620750 Mpa, yield strength of 520580 Mpa, and elongation of 2025% and are very tough and resistant to crack. The following properties ensure the suitability of ER90S-B3 consumables to heavy-duty structural steel, bridges, pressure vessels and general fabrication offering consistent and high quality welds in both MIG and TIG processes.
