What is AWS Class ER347 MIG and TIG Filler Metal ?

The austenitic stainless steel alloys used in filler welding wire and rods in AWS Class ER347 are stabilized with niobium (columbium) of about 0.08% carbon, 1821% chromium and 911% nickel and are niobium (columbium)-stabilized. This is a composition that offers great resistance against intergranular corrosion and oxidation in high temperatures. ER347 has a tensile strength of 580 750 Mpa, yield strength of about 450520 Mpa and an elongation of 3035%. These characteristics guarantee strong, ductile and resistant to corrosion of all welds and thus ER347 is good in the welding operations of high temperature and chemical treatment whether in MIG or TIG welding.
