What is AWS Class ER320LR MIG and TIG Filler Metal ?

Er320Lr MIG and TIG filler welding wire and rod is used to weld austenitic stainless steels containing high chromium and nickel content which are used to improve corrosion resistance. Their chemical makeup normally consists of 25- 28 percent chromium, 19- 22 percent nickel, 1-2 percent molybdenum, and minimal carbon (less than 0.03 percent) to minimize the formation of carbides. ER320LR has a tensile strength of 600-750 MPa, a yield strength of approximately 250 Mpa and an elongation of 35-40 percent, which is very tough and ductile. These rods and wires have high weldability, corrosion resistance, and strength at high temperatures and, therefore, can be deployed in any demanding stainless steel fabrication.
