What is AWS Class ER316/316L SAW & Flux?
AWS Class ER316/316L SAW wire is an austenitic stainless steel consumable that contains around 18–20% chromium, 11–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. The low-carbon 316L variant helps reduce the risk of intergranular corrosion. When paired with the right SAW flux, the weld metal produced offers good tensile strength, excellent ductility, and reliable impact toughness. The addition of molybdenum boosts resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in harsh environments.
